Landscape Installation Services in Chicagoland & Rockford
Beautiful landscapes begin with expert planning and professional planting. Choose a complete design-build experience that can bring together plantings, hardscapes, and other landscape features, or let our team professionally plant the trees and shrubs you’ve already selected.
Two Ways to Work With Our Installation Team
Depending on the scope of your project, Platt Hill Nursery offers two ways to bring professional landscape expertise to your property.
Full-Service Landscape Design & Installation
Our full-service landscape design and installation service takes your project from the first ideas through final installation. It begins with an on-site consultation, where a landscape designer evaluates your property, discusses your goals, and considers your home’s architecture, existing landscape, sun and shade, drainage, maintenance needs, and how you want to use the space.
Depending on the project, your design may include planting beds, trees and shrubs, patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other landscape features.
Landscape design also considers how those individual elements work together. Scale, proportion, color, texture, views, movement through the property, and the relationship between the home, hardscape, and plantings all influence the finished plan. Each element is designed to fit the property itself, the character of the home and neighborhood, and your preferences.
After the consultation, your designer prepares a custom landscape plan and proposal. Design work typically takes two to four weeks, although schedules may be longer during the busy spring season. Once you approve the plan and investment, a 50% deposit reserves your place on our installation calendar.
From Design to Finished Landscape
Full-service landscape projects can involve a lot of moving pieces. Instead of planning individual areas or coordinating the work yourself, our team, including your designer, crew leader, and installation team, works together to carry the approved plan through installation.
Once work begins, the crew leader helps manage the project in the field and serves as a knowledgeable point of contact during installation. Your designer remains involved as needed, working with the crew leader and installation team to address questions, site conditions, and other details that come up along the way.
You Pick, We Plant
Already selected your plants? Our You Pick, We Plant service gives homeowners professional planting without a complete landscape redesign.
Choose trees or shrubs at Platt Hill Nursery, and our experienced installation team can take care of the planting for you. This option works well when you already know what you want but would rather leave the digging, placement, and planting to our crew.
Our team uses planting techniques designed to encourage healthy root establishment and long-term performance in Northern Illinois landscapes.
Award-Winning Landscape Design
Great landscape design combines horticultural knowledge with creativity, craftsmanship, and an understanding of how people interact with their outdoor spaces.
