Bloomstruck Hydrangea
$44.99
Bloomstruck Hydrangea is a beautiful, large, violet-blue or rose-pink blooming shrub that will add beauty and year-round interest to your landscape. The blooms are on both old and new wood all summer long, making it a great choice for various settings. The sturdy ruby red stems are glossy deep green leaves that turn burgundy-red in the fall to offer year-round interest.
Bloomstruck Hydrangea will grow about 4 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 5 feet. It grows at a fast rate, and under ideal conditions, can be expected to live for approximately 20 years. This shrub should be grown in a partial shade shaded from the hot afternoon sun. It is not particular as to soil type, but has a definite preference for acidic soils. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments, and will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in both summer and winter to conserve soil moisture and protect it in exposed locations.
