My Evergreen is Turning Brown!?!?! Help! | Platt Hill Nursery | Blog & Advice

Is it normal for my evergreen to turn brown?

Why is my evergreen (pine, spruce, juniper, arborvitae) dropping interior needles? Should I be worried? No, it is perfectly “normal” for newly planted and established evergreens to drop interior needles in the fall. Newly planted evergreens are focusing their energy on root growth. Older established plants will drop (shed every 4-5 years) interior needles some years in the fall. It does not happen every fall, but it does happen.
