Lemongrass provides height for the center of the planter. It’s a multi-purpose plant that can be cut and added to recipes and beverages for lemon flavor. Ivy adds trailing to the bottom of the planter and offsets the pop of yellow with the mums & crotons. Ornamental cabbage and kale and takes on a red & pink hue.

Japanese blood grass is a perennial plant. You could try transplanting the Japanese blood grass from your planter in the ground after using it in the planter. Making sure you mulch around it. In the Spring, see what comes up.

All plantings are new growth for fall, not leftover from spring/summer. The deep red celosia will continue to grow in height. Interesting kale adds texture.
