The Double Play Doozie Spirea is a small shrub that grows in a round ball that has multi-colored foliage with small pink blooms that is perfect against walkways or in front of larger bushes.
The Spireas perform best in full sun areas (4 or more hours) and require twice a year pruning to maximize the look. It is critical to prune spireas once a year to minimize long thin plants with dead spots. By providing the plant a short hair cut after the first blooms in May, you will get blooms in late summer. Plant with organic compost for harsh Chicago soil.
The Double Play Doozie Spirea adds instant small color to any tight space that makes any home welcoming and colorful.
