Sod

$3.79 per roll

Platt Hill Nursery has freshly cut sod during the growing season. Our sod is delivered fresh every week, generally on Fridays.

Please call to ensure sod availability, as it is a weather dependent product

Preparation & Installation of Sod

1. All areas to be sodded should be finish graded. Grade should be 1" below walks and drives, so sod will be even when installed

2. Do not install sod on a hard surface. Use mushroom compost or peat moss to create a soft layer for the sod to settle into

3. Start laying sod along a straight edge such as a drive or walk. Lay sod tight against each other. Do not overlap. Trim off excess with a sharp knife. Sod should be laid with joints staggered

4. As soon as an area large enough to sprinkle is laid, start watering and completely saturate. Water sod thoroughly with a penetration of about 6 inches

5. Water daily for the first three days. Water every other day for the first week, then as needed

Water 2-4 hours per sprinkler setting

Mow when leaf growth reaches 3-4 inches

Lawn fertilizer can be applied 30 days after installation
